I am loving school holidays. Today we had an excursion to a huge Sydney produce market on the advice of a friend who'd said it was terrificly cheap. Oh my goodness SO CHEAP. It was a hoot too.  These gorgeous passionfruit above were so cheap I had to ask the vendor if I understood him correctly. (Am a doofus who has been shopping at Woolworths and organic growers markets a little too long, perhaps.) That same vendor who sold us four punnets of fabulous strawberries for $5 threw in an extra free punnet 'for the beautiful little girl'. Taking Tilly again next time, then. 

No Henry. Don't haggle on the $1 per bag carrots, dude.

  Tilly carried these onions for a full two seconds. I then convinced Henry to carry them as I had a couple of bags of fruit and veg by then and was fantasizing how I could carry a 10kg bag of potatoes while not losing two small children in the melee. 

I heard people behind me laughing and looked around to see Henry still diligently holding onto the onions, walking along with his shorts down around his ankles.

Because of course, right at that minute, the elastic in his shorts decided to snap.

Of course it did.

So we're miles from the car in an absolutely enormous produce market and I take the onions, regretfully let go of the potatoes, and tell Henry he has to walk holding up his shorts. Was vaguely successful. Amused many produce buyers on the way back to the car, I believe, as we lost the shorts a few more times.

Perhaps should have considered cleaning the mirror, smudges all over it. Am so excellent at housekeeping. 

It's been such a busy and wonderful week this week with visitors here every night since we got back from camping. All precious visitors too – old friends and much-missed interstate friends, and on Tuesday my beloved bookclub, Reading Between The Wines. I love that group.
