homecoming

One of the weird things about blogs are the way they are only a small part of a bloggers world. You get a glimpse, you get an idea of what that world is doing, but it's really only one small projected part.

There's been one major absence in this little world for a few months – Adam.

That man that makes it happen: he was working in Melbourne. When we abandoned the city for this country life, it was at a cost; a bit of freelancing while we got on our feet. That freelancing was interstate and mostly all week. We've had weekends, and a week here or there, but mostly we've had to muddle on without him. This last two weeks he's been away without coming home on the weekend. Holy mackerel.

And what a fortnight it was. School and preschool concerts. Lots of Bikkie orders. Farm animals to feed. Small people to ferry about. My birthday in the middle of it. And then Ivy got sick. Croup. Which if you've ever experienced it (or severe asthma) is damn scary in a small person.

But now he's home. For good.

And words, for once, escape me.

Because without him nothing really counts for me.

He makes it all make sense, and makes everything more fun.

He's the best part of the day and if he's not here FAR OUT you should see the state the kitchen gets into.

We adore him, we missed him terribly, and we're celebrating that he is home.

Oh look, it's Christmas

Joy to the world. Really. We love this man.
