this moment: house build
We're building another house on the farm.
It's been a very long time in the planning and imagining. This will be Mum and Dad's house and we'll move out of the two-room loft we're in, and into the farmhouse.
Mum and Dad have designed this house very specifically for the view and for comfort and ease of living. It's very modest and once it's begun the builder doesn't expect it to take particularly long (relatively) to build.
The digging started this week. First sod by Dad, then the next day an enormous digger arrived that excited Ivy no end. Me too. It's super exciting.

And it will be great entertainment for all concerned, not just the littlies, watching the house grow.

April 20, 2013 at 7:18 pmHow is it really living in such close proximity to your parents? Seriously, you or Adam or your parents must feel a bit claustrophobic or straight out nuts at times? Do tell…

April 20, 2013 at 8:35 pmHa! You know, its actually wonderful. And thats not subject to spin, I promise. Its wonderful. Our claustrophobia is limited to the challenges of living in two rooms with three small children and an enormous tableful of todays eggs waiting to be candled and boxed. Look, Mum and Dad can speak for themselves and Im sure having the five of us descend on them drive them nuts at times. But I do do all the cooking which I know Mum appreciates, and I think Dad kinda likes having stuff going on that hes not entirely responsible for, even if we do things differently than he would. Maybe the whole thing works because Adam and Dad have such a good relationship. That is, Dad teases the life out of Ad and Ad just gets on with it good naturedly. Its actually all very friendly. Maybe thats weird. Works for us. xx
