what not to wear

DSC_0011

I'm going to the Aussie Bloggers Conference next weekend. Really very excited about it. I booked it when we still lived in Sydney, so except for a few logistical issues mostly fixed by a fabulous friend with a car space in the city and my partially weaned baby, we're good to go.

Funny though, I keep seeing conversations on Twitter and other blogs about what to wear, about shopping and new shoes and haircuts.

Gosh.

If I can stop myself cutting my own fringe we'll be ahead.

Really, though, no one's going to be looking at my jeans, that's for sure.

I know some of my readers are bloggers, but I actually think the great majority aren't, and won't be part of the 170 delegates at the conference. (Are you? Tell me if you're going! I'll be the one with the bad hair and really old shoes.)

I tend to think that bloggers, particularly mum bloggers who this conference is catering to, are pretty monumentally unjudgemental. I think if you're wearing vegemite, no one is really going to care.

I'm not just excited about meeting two particularly favourite bloggers, Kate and Tricia, but also because the whole thing about blogging is about sharing a story. Talking over the back fence. Connecting. I'm thinking the plenary sessions will be awesome.

I won't be wearing a baby for the first time in eight months.

I won't be wearing heels, or a brand, or anything particularly well thought out.

I won't wear my yoga pants. I won't wear my Blundstones.

I'll aim to not wear vegemite.

I will be wearing a smile.

Looking forward to meeting 169 other bloggers who all hit 'publish' with a story that they feel like sharing.

If you're going, I look forward to meeting you. I have absolutely no interest in what you're wearing and every interest in what you have to say.
