zooland(er)

So while we're on the subject of zoo-land (weren't we?) guess where we went this weekend?

Taronga. It has to be the best zoo in the world, surely.

So much fun. So many amazing things to see and talk about.

And because I am a Class A Dork (as you know)  I was probably less excited about seeing Pathi Harn, the very little, very cute new baby elephant than the big eco demo house and garden. In fact, no photos of Pathi but about 8 of the vegie and herb gardens. Dork. Told you.

And this is an un-enhanced picture of the view from right near the pygmy hippo's enclosure:

Those pygmy hippos. View and a pool. Awesome real estate.

And one more of Tilly sleeping through a walking excursion (only the end bit as we were leaving.) Tuckered out little person. The only time she stopped talking about the giraffes.

words can not express just how much I hate the zoo. It’s probably in direct inverse proportion to how much my children love it. EUGH.

there is something about giraffes isn’t there?
my eldest used to love them but was too scared to feed them when he was 3- he thought they were trying to eat his hand!!

and my youngest has a stuffed giraffe from a few visits ago that he has renamed
Jar Jar ( been watching Star Wars) that sleeps with him every night. its very hard to cuddle a giraffe though..

We just got back from our road trip holiday that took in western plains zoo at Dubbo. Definitely worth a look. No million dollar view for those hippo’s but the paddle pool (lake hippo) is impressive. Lots of Giraffes, Zebra’s, tigers, lions etc. Was kind of kike being in your own personal version of Madagascar which is how brody referred to all the animals. (Marty, Alex, Mevin and co) Had a great time. Didn’t feel like being in a zoo. xx

Gorgeous picture of Adam – just delightful story (although I’m a tad inclined to agree with Kim – I’m not a big fan of zoos…) Glad you had a fabulous day though!
